My observation is that some IT departments:
1) Seek to acquire or implement state-of-the-art technology/apps without fully considering the holistic needs
and benefit-cost analysis.

2) View their role as supporting the objectives of a cost center (overhead).

In contrast, as an executive leader I emphasize:
1) Acquiring cost-effective, business-appropriate resources to achieve transformation goals.
2) Using IT as a means to obtain, retain and engage customers... generating sales and satisfied customers.
